If you're interested in meeting new people, shopping, crafts, water adventures, excursions, or competing in card or sports tournaments, Camp Brosius has something for you!
Want to rekindle your relationship and strengthen your family simultaneously? Bring everyone to camp and reconnect with your partner, knowing your kids are cared for while you spend quality time with your significant other. Camp is great for single parents, too, and provides you with an opportunity to grow family bonds in a relaxed setting.
Just need some time off? Unplug, commune with nature, quietly read a book, enjoy a nap, take a quiet hike around the lake, or simply kick back and relax!
Have your own boat? Bring it to Camp Brosius, dock it on the property for free, and go fishing (be sure to bring your own gear and get your fishing license), take your family and friends tubing, or cruise around the crystal-clear waters of Elkhart Lake all week long! If you do bring tubes or other floatation devices, an air pump is available for you to use in the camp garage.
For those of you who can't part with e-mail or work for a week, bring your laptop! Camp Brosius is set-up for wireless access as well as hard-line DSL connections. If the wireless strength isn't strong enough to suit your needs, staff can direct you to nearby hotspots in Elkhart Lake or Plymouth.
Introverted? No worries. You can participate in as much or little of camp's activities as you like. Extroverted? Sign up for anything and everything! Voluntary sign-up sheets are posted for activities and include choices for couples, individuals, teams, families, or groups of friends. Your week will be different than your neighbor's and is designed by the most important family Camp Brosius guest: you!
Things to do as a group or on your own while at camp include:
- Waterfront activities* (pedal boats, paddle boards, sailboats, canoes, kayaks, pontoon rides, sailing regatta, and swimming--all included in your weekly reservation)
- Wellness (group exercise, lake hikes, lake swim with the waterfront staff, bike rides)
- Competitions (horseshoes, bean-bag toss, cards, tennis, volleyball, basketball, kickball)
- Education (lectures on contemporary topics in science, art, medicine, and other areas conducted by an IU faculty member after adult dinner)
*All camp guests, regardless of age, are required to wear appropriately fitted life jackets, provided by camp, to utilize any of camp's watercraft.
Camp's adult program coordinator will facilitate optional daily activities, similar to this schedule.
Not enough for you to do?
Schedule a spa day, take a day trip, play golf, go water skiing, take in world-class auto racing, head to a Milwaukee Brewers game, visit Lambeau Field, game fish on Lake Michigan, or schedule something else through nearby Elkhart Lake vendors on your own. Brochures for some local attractions are in the camp gift shop, and the office manager can assist you with scheduling tee times and other arrangements. See what else there is to do near Camp Brosius.
Please note that you may come and go from the property as you please. If you have children, you will need to pick them up before the lunch break and when program is over for the day. You may arrange for baby sitting services through the office manager or have a family member pick up your children. For your children's safety, please notify their counselor(s) regarding your child-care arrangements and leave your contact information with the office manager and children's program director.
